Counsel Support Services
GLC is pleased, as part of its practice, to offer support to other lawyers and law firms in preparing for or attending in Court on cases they are handling. Whether it be advice or assistance in dealing with a specific issue, brainstorming with you in fine-tuning case strategy, assisting in the “heavy lifting” of preparing for trial or appearing with you as co-counsel on hearings or trials, we are available to help when needed. Think of us as your “colleagues down the hall”.
We recognize that costs on litigation matters need to be tightly controlled, and will work with you in establishing a pricing structure for the services we provide that fits your client’s budget. We will also be respectful of your client relationships and, in whatever role we play, will work to support and strengthen your client’s confidence in you as the lawyer in charge of their case.
The lawyers at GLC welcome the opportunity to assist you and your clients in the following ways:
- Acting as co-counsel “shoulder-to-shoulder” with you, or as outside counsel with your input, at trial or on complex chambers applications.
- Collaborating with you, either on a one-off or ongoing basis, in developing strategies and mapping out the work needed to optimize your client’s chances of success.
- Assisting you in developing and implementing a system for managing evidentiary documents, tailored to the needs and financial limitations of the case, in document-intensive cases.
- Handling specific aspects of a case (such as a particular chambers application, legal research, document review or data analysis), under your direction.
- Assisting in organizing and preparing books of documents for trial.
- Interviewing witnesses and preparing minutes of their evidence.
- Reviewing and providing input on your trial plan and case strategy before you head to court.
