Scouten & Rogers
“I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot; together we can do great things.” — Mother Teresa.
Our Story
Now, you normally wouldn’t expect to see Mother Teresa quoted in a lawyers’ website, but it happens to be the perfect caption for the story of how the firm of Scouten & Rogers came to be.
Jeff Scouten has plied the waters of the BC Court system as a litigator for some 40 years. He has practised in firms ranging in size from Canada’s largest to a stint in a small rural practice, and as the principal of two litigation firms in Vancouver – Crossin & Scouten in the 1990s and Henshall Scouten more recently – along the way.
Dana Rogers began her career at a respected litigation boutique in downtown Vancouver, where Jeff was serving as associate counsel. Recognizing her talent early on, Jeff worked with Dana on numerous commercial cases, and their professional rapport quickly took root. Dana later forged her own path in family law and estate litigation, building a reputation as a capable and confident trial lawyer known for her compassion and tenacity.

In early 2024, they decided the time was right to join forces. They hatched the plan of forming a firm of their own with the vision of building a practice group of talented lawyers sharing their professional values offering legal services to the community in BC of a quality second-to-none. That, then, led to their association with Chantler & Company and the formation of the practice group now known as Gastown Litigation Counsel (GLC).
To this fledgling venture, Dana brings her boundless energy and enthusiasm, strong organizational skills, and talents as an advocate. Jeff brings his many years of courtroom experience and his understanding of the nuances of the law and the dynamics and complexities of human conflict.
Together, Dana and Jeff combine compassion and empathy for their clients with a steadfast commitment to building one of the most respected and trusted litigation firms in the province, delivering advocacy that makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those they represent.
